Our plastic and reconstructive surgeons perform hundreds of procedures each year and are dedicated to giving our patients the results they are looking for.
The Consultation
During your consultation with your plastic surgeon, you will have the opportunity to spend as long as you like discussing the changes what you would like to achieve.
This will give you the best possible idea of how you can expect your breasts to look after the replacement or removal of your implants.
Quality time at your consultation is important, and it explains why so many patients recommend the team at Esteem Cosmetic Studio.
Prior to arranging a consultation with our surgeon, please do see your Gp and organise a referral. Also organise with you Gp to have an ultrasound of both breasts to rule out rupture. We will need to see the ultrasound report at the consultation. We also request that you bring in your implant ID card, this card would have details of your current implant such as the brand of implant, the size, the profile. This information will help us rule out if you have polyurethane coated implants.
The procedure itself is done under general anaesthetic, whilst you are asleep, and it takes about 60-90 minutes.
Your surgeon will make a discreet incision usually using your old scar. There are a number of different techniques that your doctor will discuss with you at your consultation, and from there, they will decide which is best for you. Depending on how much your breasts have changed, your doctor may recommend combining the procedure with a breast lift, also known as a Mastopexy.
The type of result you can expect and any risks involved will be discussed with you by your surgeon.
