Lip Lift Surgery
Information About Lip Lift Procedures in Sydney.
What is a Lip Lift?
A lip lift is a facial surgical procedure that essentially shortens the distance between the nose and the upper lip. The shortening of the distance results in a more youthful appearance.
As we age, like every other part of the body, our lips lose their fullness. The loss of volume increases the distance between the tip or the nose and the upper lip which makes the entire face appear much older.
There are also some younger patients that are born with naturally thin lips that want to change the position of lips and improve the ratios to create a softer overall appearance.
Subnasal Lip Lift also known as Bull Horn Technique
The subnasal lip lift raises the upper lip to reveal more of the top teeth. This change in position increases the lip’s volume and brings better aesthetic proportion to the lower lip.
During a subnasal lip lift, the doctor cuts an incision beneath the nose in the shape of a bull’s horn. A small strip of skin and tissue is removed. The muscles are then tightened, and the upper lip is raised to its new position. The procedure takes about 1 hour, and the recovery time is between 5 and 7 days.
How long do the results last?
Unlike injections, lip lifts provide results that last a lifetime. Patients will not have to spend money on multiple treatments or procedure.
Lip Lift Recovery
Recovery is relatively quick and sutures are usually removed 5 to 7 days after surgery. Patients should expect the lips to swell for one to two weeks. Incisions can take about 6 to 8 weeks to completely heal. Patients may also experience a feeling of mild tightness for 2 to 4 months. Specific post operative instructions will be given to you at the time of discharge.
How much does it cost?
The cost of a lip lift procedure based on a straight forward case starts from $9,900. This fee includes the doctor’s fee, the anaesthetist fee and the hospital theatre and bed fee.
