At our Canberra clinic, the Profhilo treatment is injected into your skin to soften lines, folds and wrinkles and to help regenerate collagen and elastin back to your skin. Profhilo can be used alongside muscle relaxants and dermal fillers.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is a new bio-remodelling product for the skin. After a sweeping success in Europe, it is finally here in Australia. It is not a wrinkle-relaxing agent and it is not a filler. Profhilo is a completely new line of product that is intended for tissue remodelling and skin laxity.
Profhilo treatment is made of Hyaluronic Acid which naturally exists in the skin and it is the first product that does not contain any chemical cross-linking ingredients (BDDE) as other products do. Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin regeneration and allows new hyaluronic acid to be created, having a scaffolding effect to uplift and tighten the skin.
Is Profhilo a dermal filler?
Profhilo is NOT a dermal filler. Yes, both contain hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers are however thick and viscous, Profhilo, on the other hand, has a water-like consistency, very similar to that of honey.
Dermal filler treats specific areas and folds, Profhilo is all about improving the whole area, for example – the whole face or the whole neck. The product flows freely under the surface of the skin.
How does Profhilo work?
Our skin loses elasticity as we age, our bodies just do not produce as much collagen as before and the very cells that gave us structure, and taut skin starts to lose its firmness. What we see in the mirror in recent photos would be the dreaded wrinkles and fine lines. How many treatments do I need?
Bio Remodelling is performed over 2 treatments 4 weeks apart. After the second treatment, you will notice that your skin is hydrated, the lines and wrinkles are much softer and your skin texture went up a few notches on the scale of improvement.
Over 2 courses of injections over 4 weeks, Profhilo is injected just below the skin’s surface and it disperses quickly to boost collagen production. This will result in instantly hydrated skin, smoothed-out fine lines and wrinkles, and improved skin texture. After the initial two treatments, we strongly suggest you have one course done every 6 to 9 months for maintenance.

Should you have treatment on the day, the $50 will be offset from treatment cost, if not it will just be allocated as consult fee.
